Varsity vs Avon High School (25 - 45) Loss The Royals, already short-handed with 3 starters out of the line-up competed hard against #4 Avon, also without a few starters and ultimately fell short. The meet began at 150 with Roben Randhawa losing by Tech Fall to highly ranked Chase Kline of the Orioles. The Royals would get on the board with a decision victory by Sophomore Dylan Lane, winning over Avon Senior Logan Ott, 5-0. In the night's only match-up of 2 state ranked individuals, the Orioles grabbed a big win with their #3 ranked Larson defeated the Royals' #16 Cohen Davis at 165 by technical fall. At 175, the most exciting match of the night occurred as Royal Freshman, Evan Hsu, himself a 3rd string athlete stepped up and erased a 14-3 deficit by getting a takedown, then turning and pinning his opponent in the final period! The Orioles would win a decision at 190 over HSE's Brandon Alvarez and then get their own huge comeback with a throw to a fall over Reid Snider at 215. The Royals' fought back and won at 285 by tech fall to extend AW Vankirk's Unbeaten streak on the season to now 5-0 after his Center Grove Classic Title as well. After a forfeit by HSE at 106 due to an injury, the Orioles won a close one at 113 over Will Lakes and then a dominating win at 120 as well. HSE came back and got a pin at 126 by Sophomore Cale Beattie. then dropped two tech falls to top ranked Oriole Seniors at 132 and 138. In the Final match, Royal Junior Max Inman won by Tech fall to bring the score to it's final 45-25. The Royals will be back on the mat on Wednesday December 10 at Zionsville.
