Girls Track is Sectional Runner Up with 3 Sectional Records

The Lady Royals Track team hosted a weather postponed IHSAA Sectional on Wednesday. The team was led by Chloe Senefeld and Anissa Lammie, both winning their event in Sectional Record time. Senefeld blazed to a 41.44 second school record 300 hurdle race making her the second fastest in state history! Lammie had a strong finish in the 400 to break her own sectional record in a time of 55.19 seconds! Both joined Kaleah McCarter and Evelyn Gerig on the winning 4x400 relay team that also broke the sectional record with a state leading time of 3:50.56. Senefeld was also part of the winning 4x100 relay team along with McCarter, Laila Ehrgott, and Micaiah Bullock. Senefeld began the meet with a runner up finish in the 100 hurdles running a PR of 15.08 seconds. McCarter also ran a PR of 12.27 seconds to place second in the 100 dash. Cianna Cunningham had a pair of 4th place finishes in the 100 and 200 as did Bullock in the 100 hurdles and long jump, both earning key team points. Zoe Gebhart ran a personal best in the 3200 of 10:43.90 to place third. Gebhart and Lammie were joined by Gerig and Evie Patch on the runner up 4x800 team with a season best time of 9:27.81. Riley Williams was 6th in the pole vault clearing 10' 6". All the above mentioned have qualified for the Lafayette Jeff Regional on Tuesday, May 26. Other athletes that scored points for the team were Natalie Arnold in the long jump, Bella Arthur in the discus, Christina Mimche in the shot put, Azenwi Ndofor in the high jump, and Eleanor Henry in the pole vault.
