TERRE HAUTE — The Class of 2026 will be inducted Saturday in Terre Haute, Indiana, home of the Indiana Track & Field Museum. The annual Hall of Fame Ceremony recognizes and preserves the most outstanding performances, record-breaking achievements, and exceptional accomplishments of the selected Indiana athletes and coaches from across the state. HSE's very own, Julie Alano has been inducted into the Indiana Track & Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame. Coach Alano just completed 20 years at the helm of the HSE Girls Track and Field coach amassing 13 Sectionals, 10 Regionals, 2 state fifth-place finishes, 2 state third-place finishes, 2 state runners-up, and 1 state championship. Many of her relays have placed high in postseason national meets. In 2025, her Sprint Medley and Mixed 1,600 relay won the Nike Outdoor Nationals in Eugene, Oregon. Alano also coached the cross country team for seven years with seven IHSAA sectional wins and six semistate appearances. She has served the IATCCC since 2001 in several areas – president, secretary for 15 years and director of the annual coaching clinic eight years. Throughout her Hall of Fame career, Julie Alano has helped shape & develop the women of HSE Track & Field and Indiana track & field as a whole through her leadership, dedication, and commitment to student-athletes, families and coaches. We are proud to celebrate Coach Alano as a member of the 2026 Indiana Track & Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame Class!
