Boys Varsity Soccer beats rival Harrison 2-0

By Becky Lathrop | Sep 4, 2026 7:16 PM

The HSE Varsity Boys Soccer team traveled to West Lafayette for their usual spirited matchup with the Harrison Raiders. The Royals controlled much of the first half but couldn't find the back of the net, sending the teams into the half scoreless. Coaches clearly had an effective message for the boys at half and HSE came out strong in the 2nd half. Mason MacEwen (7) quickly put the Royals up 1-0 with a great finish from a well placed ball from Taylor Barrett (17). The Royals continued the pressure to create opportunities and had several near misses. With 10 minutes remaining, the Royals earned a corner kick. Mason MacEwen (7) delivered a perfect ball into the box, where it was deflected by a Raider. Matthew Lathrop (12) connected on a half volley into the back of the net to make the score 2-0. The Royals finished strong for a well-earned 2-0 road victory. The team takes a well-earned break over the holiday weekend before resuming their road trip at crosstown rival Fishers on Tuesday, 9/8 for Mudsock 2026!
