HSE Boys JV Soccer beats Heritage Christian 5-1

On Tuesday the Royals braved the construction on I 69 and headed south the face off against Heritage Christian. After multiple good scoring chances for the Royals they finally were able to get one past the keeper into the net when midfielder CJ Hackney (29) passed the ball up the center of the pitch to an open Isaac Ferguson (40) who broke past the net minder, took a shot, handled the rebound off the goalies chest and played it around him putting into the goal. Royals 1-0. With 10:00 left in the first half after a couple defensive miscues an Eagle forward was able to fit between the Royals defense and keeper and was able to sneak a bouncing ball past to tie the game at 1-1. The first half ended in 1-1 tie. Four minutes into the second half the Royals drove deep into the Eagles defensive end and Isaac Ferguson (40) passed it back outside the box to an open Harold Hernandez (41) who put it over the top of the Eagles goalie to put the Royals up 2-1! 10 minutes later the Royals were pressuring the Eagles defense again and Levi Rifner (4) took a shot that bounced off the Eagle keeper and went right the Gavin Miller (28) who pounded it past the net minder to put the Royals up 3-1! With 1:30 left in the game the Royals took a flurry of shots from inside the box and Gavin Miller (28) was able to find some clear space to his left of the keeper and pound it home for his second goal of the night! Royals 4-1. 30 seconds later a dashing Keygan Robinson (25) was able to beat the defense and sneak one past the goalie to score his first of the night! Royals 5-1. The Royals beat the Eagles 5-1 to bring the record to 12-1-1 on the year. The Royals head to Carmel on Thursday night for the final game of the season.
