Sectionals: Boys take 2nd overall The HSE Boys competed in Sectionals on February 20 and 22 at the home pool against 10 other teams. The HSE team was 2nd overall with 467 points earned. The 200 Medley Relay of seniors Jacob Frey, Collin Huston, Jihoon Jung and Derek Robison were the sectional champs with a time of 1:32.47. This is a State qualifying time, a sectional record, a school record and a pool record. The 200 Free saw Camden Bailey finish 4th, Jagger Chan 6th and Ivan Semko 7th. Jung won the 200 IM with a State qualifying time of 1:49.31. Huston was 3rd with a 1:55.21, earning him a State swim. Frey was 7th. Zach Marchisin placed 3rd and Nolan Pugh placed 7th in the 50 Free. Jung captured another sectional win in the 100 Fly with a State qualifying time of 49.28. Marchisin placed 5th and Alden Sealls placed 7th. In the 100 Free, Bailey placed 2nd with a time of 47.26 and Robison placed 3rd with a 47.56, both times fast enough to earn a State swim. Xander Goss placed 8th. The 500 Free was dominated by HSE Freshmen. Bryce Salvadori placed 4th, Semko was 6th and Josh Lawrance was 7th. The 200 Free Relay of Bailey, Pugh, Marchisin and Robison were 2nd with a State qualifying time of 1:26.98. Frey was 3rd in the 100 Back with a time of 52.23, fast enough to earn a State swim. Sealls was 5th and Goss was 7th. Huston was the 100 Breast sectional champ with a State qualifying time of 56.13. Chan was 4th and Pugh was 6th. Finishing up the meet was a State qualifying time of 3:08.80 and sectional win for the 400 Free Relay of Jung, Bailey, Robison and Huston.
