Girls Track captures Runner Up trophy at Indoor State

The Lady Royals Track team rewrote the HSE indoor record books at the HSR State Indoor Finals on Saturday, March 29. Elia Blackmore earned runner-up in the 60 meter hurdles as she broke the school record again with a time of 8.63 seconds. The 4x400 relay team of Ciara Kepner, Addison Smith, Anissa Lammie, and Chloe Senefeld also earned runner-up as they broke their own school record from last indoor season with a time of 3:50.43 which is the second fastest ever for indoors in Indiana. The 4x200 relay team of Kaleah McCarter, Senefeld, Blackmore, and Anissa Lammie blazed to a new indoor school record time of 1:41.45 to place 5th. The distance medley relay (DMR) team of Catey Campbell, Ava Kashani, Kayla Brinley, and Elizabeth Butler ran an impressive time of 12:14.18 to break the indoor school record and place 5th as well. The 4x800 relay team of Campbell, Ava Powers, Kepner, and Smith also ran an impressive time of 9:21.13 which ranks 2nd all time for HSE indoors and earned them 4th place in the meet. Elizabeth Butler ran a second off her school record time in the 3200 to place 7th in the race at 10:46.01. The team did have 1 field event participant as Katie Wooden placed 17th in the shot put. With relay teams earning double points in this meet, the team was able to accumulate 52 points for a team runner-up finish! This makes their 3rd runner up finish after also earning that in 2024 and 2019. The Lady Royals won this meet in 2014 and 2018. The team returns outdoors on Tuesday at Westfield.
