HSE Freshman Team Wins One and Loses One on Saturday in Roncalli Round Robin

The freshmen Royals lost their first game of the Roncalli Round Robin against the Roncalli Royals 12-2 after six innings Saturday morning. Chelsea Ferrill started on the mound for the Royals, allowing six earned runs in the first inning and walking two batters against a very good hitting Roncalli team. Elli Lindvall came in to relieve Ferrill in the first inning, allowing five earned runs and striking out 5 Roncalli batters. The HSE Royals struggled offensively, but Allison Miller was a stand out at the plate. She went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Halli Turner went 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. Faith Butler also added a hit for the HSE offense. The HSE freshmen played Brownsburg in their second game of the day, winning 7-5 against the Bulldogs. Chelsea Ferrill earned the win on the mound for HSE. She allowed seven hits and four runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one. Elli Lindvall relieved Ferrill in the sixth inning, allowing two hits, zero walks, one run, and striking out three. Offensively, the Royals were led by Halli Turner going 2-for-3 with a walk. Kensley Roberts went 3-for-5 with an RBI to add to the HSE offense. Lily Layman added two hits with Ferrill, Lindvall, Rileigh Pierce, and Allison Miller adding hits as well. The freshmen Royals will face Brebeuf again on Friday at 6:00 pm.
