Girls Track is Sectional Runner Up

The Lady Royals Track Team had a great Sectional meet but could not overcome Carmel's depth as they scored 171. 5 points to the Royals 138.5. The team set 3 Sectional Records and 1 School Record in winning 4 events. Elia Blackmore won both hurdle races. She set a new Sectional and School Record in the 300 hurdles with a time of 43.24. Chloe Senefeld was second in the 300 hurdles also faster than the previous meet record running 44.19. Anissa Lammie won the 400 breaking her own meet record from last season running 55.51. She also anchored the 4x400 relay team to victory in a new Sectional Record time of 3:50.85. Joining her on the relay was Ciara Kepner, Chloe Senefeld, and Ava Kashani. All athletes in the top 3 automatically qualify for the regional track meet next week. Elizabeth Butler was runner-up in both the 1600 and 3200. Both the 4x800 and the 4x100 were also second. The 4x800 team was Addison Smith, Anissa Lammie, Anaya Lammie, and Ciara Kepner; the 4x100 team was Micaiah Bullock, Chloe Senefeld, Laila Ehrgott, and Kaleah McCarter. The Royals had 3 third place finishers - Micaiah Bullock in the 100 hurdles, Ciara Kepner in the 800, and Catey Campbell in the 1600. Kaleah McCarter scored key points as she placed 4th in the 100 and 5th in the 200 as did EJ Shults placing 5th in the high jump and 6th in the long jump. Others earning points were Ava Kashani 7th in the 200, Natalie Arnold 4th in the long jump, Fanta Sall 6th in the discus, Reghan Harrison 7th in the discus, Katie Wooden 4th in the shot put, Leah Brigham 5th in the shot put, and Riley Williams 6th in the pole vault. Many of those in the top 7 could still get callbacks to advance to the regional after other sectional meets complete tonight due to weather postponement.
