Mark your calendars for the 22nd Annual Carrie Colglazier Scholarship Workday on Sunday, September 21st. Yes we are trying a Sunday this year. On June 6th, 2003, former Hamilton Southeastern student-athlete Carrie Colglazier was tragically killed by a drunk driver. Carrie was a two-sport All-State athlete in soccer and track and was actively involved in the FFA program at HSE. She was also a proud member of the National Honor Society. Carrie was known for her passion for family, friends, teammates, teachers, and coaches, and she took great pride in being a Royal. In her honor, HSE has named the prestigious Set a Good Example (SAGE) Award after Carrie, ensuring her legacy continues to inspire student at Hamilton Southeastern. In cooperation with her family, Hamilton Southeastern established the Carrie Colglazier Scholarship Fund. Each fall, the Workday serves as a way to raise funds for this scholarship, which is awarded annually at the Senior Academic Awards Banquet in May. On September 21st, HSE girls’ track and soccer athletes, along with members of the National Honor Society and FFA, will be available to work an 4-8 hour day for a minimum $25 donation. All proceeds go directly to the Carrie Colglazier Scholarship Fund.
