Commentary by Dan Borzymowski and Ryan Shui HSE Boys Freshmen soccer win 3-0 behind strong play in all three zones and solid goalkeeping. The Royals picked up their first win of the season by shutting out the Lawrence North Wildcats, bringing the Royals record to 1-0-2. In the first half of the game, Mayson Osborne had a great save from a free kick right outside the box. Dwight Perez (#3) got the Royals on the scoreboard midway through the first half when he got control of a bouncing ball in the box and pushed it past the Wildcat net minder in the lower left corner of the goal. Keaton Voland (#4) added one more goal to the scoreboard halfway through the second half when he cut around a defender on the left side of the box and put one past the keeper on the bottom right side of the net. Mere minutes later, CJ Green (#14) picked up a loose ball in the box off of a corner kick and hammered it past the goalkeeper to bring it to 3-0 in favor of the Royals. Goalkeeper Mayson Osborne had his third great save off of a free kick but it didn't clear the box until Paxton Shui (#9) cleared it across the field. Mayson Osborne was a wall and earned his first shutout of the season. This was a great win for the freshmen boys! On Thursday, Aug. 28, the Boys Freshman soccer team will travel to south to Center Grove to try and earn their second win of the young season.
