The HSE Royals Boys Varsity soccer team put up a determined fight against the Harrison Raiders but came up just short in a 1-2 loss. It was a back and forth match on both sides during the first half but Harrison was able to squeak in a goal before the close of the half. Harrison extended the lead to 0-2 early in the second half before HSE was able to mount a late surge. Jake Borcherding (#13) found the back of the net in the final 12 minutes to cut the deficit, and the Royals created several dangerous chances to equalize. Despite the strong late push, time ran out and HSE fell 1-2 in a hard fought match. The Boys Varsity Royals play next at home against Brebeuf Jesuit on Saturday, 9/6.
