Boys Varsity Soccer Prevails Against Pendleton in 2OT Nail Biter

By Heather Kestian | Oct 8, 2025 8:16 AM

The Royals Boys Varsity soccer team prevailed in the first of their sectional games against the Pendleton Heights Arabians in an exciting match. The Royals came out ready to win and had plenty of scoring opportunities. Late in the second half, Pendleton scored on a corner kick, making the score 1-0. Then, within a minute, the Royals came roaring back with Jonathan Ramos Perez (#11) decisively putting the ball in the back of the net, tying the match 1-1. The game ended in a tie, but sectional rules provide that there are two, seven-minute periods. With only 20 seconds to go in the second overtime, Jack Barnes (#44) came flying into the box with a header from a corner kick, which went over the goalie's head and into the goal. The Royals square off on October 8 at 7:15 pm at Fishers High School. Don't miss another exciting match where the Royals Boys Varsity soccer take on Mt. Vernon in sectional play.
