Boys Tennis Punches Ticket to State

On a beautiful day for tennis, the boys tennis team faced off against the tough team from Center Grove High School, on their home courts for the right to be one of the 8 teams that get to go to the state tournament. We started out hot as all 5 spots won the first set, but Center Grove are no pushovers (being a top ten ranked team) and fought back. Still we were able to prevail 3-2 to secure HSE's first ever trip as a team to the state tournament. First off the courts was 2 doubles (Ian Ransom and Max Weinberger) who won in straight sets. They were quickly followed by 1 doubles (Logan Foust and Landon Osswald) who also got the victory in straights. At this point we just needed one of the singles players to win to secure our spot. That victory point was given to us by Parker Stump at 2 singles (also in straight sets). Both our 1 Singles (Brady Stump) and 3 Singles (Evan Holderman) fought hard, but lost in 3 sets. What a great day for HSE tennis. We continue to get better and we look forward to our match next Friday at North Central for our State Quarter-Final match.
